I believe that cooking matters, and for far too long, we've devalued the skill. In our busy lives, with so many conveniences, it is just too easy (and unhealthy) to skip the task. That is a mistake I aim to correct with my new show.
No one needs to cook 3 squares a day seven days a week, I surely don't, but cooking is worth our time and attention. And best of all, when done well, it is simply delicious. So, my purpose here, on TV, and anywhere else, is to tempt viewers back to the stove because, as quaint as it sounds, tasty and nutritious home cooked meals stand at the center of family, community, culture, and dare I say, life.

In addition to reframing old favorites, I plan to talk with informed guests and visit different places so we all learn something new.
